Last month we ran a Disruptor workshop at the Chamber Inspiring Women in Business Conference. We were delighted and honoured to be a part of such a fantastic and inspiring event.
A key theme and takeaway for us was living true to our Values and uniting together as powerful women to Disrupt the current narrative and lift each other up.
The North East has the highest proportion of disabled people in the UK. Therefore, ALL of us have been or will be impacted by disability directly or indirectly at some point in our lives.
This is why it is so important to recognise #Wearealldisabled and create a movement for positive change.
We can ALL become Disruptors for disability with these simple steps:
Become more Affirmative in your approach by celebrating disability as a normal part of the human experience.
ASK if someone would like help and don’t make assumptions about what support they may want or need.
Be curious; start having those open conversations and if you don’t understand it’s fine to ask for clarity.
Small actions can make a big difference. Think of one thing you can say or do differently to create positive change and a ripple effect with your work colleagues, family, friends and wider community.
Contact us to share your story and let’s get our voices out there.
