We Are All Disabled workshop programme
Following the first We Are All Disabled conference a series of online workshops which will held throughout the year where the themes of the conference will be explored in greater depth.
Our event speakers
John McCabe is chief executive of North East England Chamber of Commerce. Which represents 2,500 member organisations across the region, committed to building a stronger more inclusive economy. John is also a committee member at The Princes Trust, and trustee at Millfield House Foundation.
Lee Ridley, better known by his stage name the Lost Voice Guy, is an English stand-up comedian. Disabled since early life, and unable to speak, he rose to prominence in June 2018 after winning the 12th series of Britain's Got Talent
A band made up of mostly autistic musicians on a mission to get people to think differently. The members, who practise in Gateshead, want to be accepted as a professional band, not a band with disabilities
Victoria is a Director of WAAD and Chief Executive of Disability North. She provides strategic leadership and hands-on management to ensure the charity meets its aims and objectives to promote inclusion, independence, and choice for disabled people in the North of England.
Lucy the founder and Managing Director of WAAD and Lucy Reynolds PhD Ltd. She is a public speaker, academic researcher, blogger, and advocate for disability rights and is passionate about exploring, challenging and changing perceptions of disability.
Dave Hill is a transformational coach and owner of Simplicity in Mind. He has always been passionate about people and helping get the best out of them for themselves and for the organisations they work for. Dave's hope is to create a network of people that feel empowered to support each other in the knowledge that by caring and listening without judgement they have the potential to save lives.
Brian has 20 years’ experience working across statutory, further and higher education. His extensive experience has ranged from teaching and co-ordination through to operational and strategic management of direct services to students, and as a senior leader in UK and European organisations. He also has direct lived experience of disability throughout his education and career.
